Job Description:
Community Health Centers, Inc., is currently seeking a full-time CSA/Financial Counselor for it's SouthLake Center in Groveland.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

 1. Performs financial counseling process on all patients prior to treatment, which includes patient

     financial obligations, billing practices and establishing payment arrangements.
 2. Documents financial counseling process and if needed determines sliding scale eligibility.
 3. Interviews patients and families to determine patient's ability to pay for services and will educate

     patient and their families as to medical insurance coverage, sliding scale, amount of co-pays, and

     deductibles.
 4.  Educates patients about available programs to cover gaps in coverage.
 5.  Assist patients in obtaining financial assistance (i.e. Medicaid, Medicare, HMO) outside assistance,

      (transportation or other community services.), and all appropriate forms filled out.
 6.  Advises patients of procedure costs and alternative source of funding.
 7.  May collect co-pay, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit.
 8.  Assists in maintaining manuals, logs and other required documentation as required.
 9.  Contracts with patients for payment plans.
10. Ensures all insurance, demographic, and eligibility information is obtained and entered into the

      system in an accurate manner.
11. Performs insurance verification process on all third party payers.
12. Obtains initial and subsequent pre-authorization for service and surgeries.
13. Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and the health

      center.
14. Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front offices.
15. Covers for and assists with other front office duties.
16. Follows up on Workman's Comp and report work status.
17. Performs other duties as assigned or necessary.

 
Job Requirements:

At least 1 year previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred.

Previous experience working with E-Clinical Software or equivalent and good mathematical skills are required. 

Familiar with Federal Poverty Guidelines, Medicaid, Medicare, HMO's, Insurance and other governmental programs. Familiar with all policies and regulations pertaining to co-pays, deductibles and out of pocket expenses with all insurance carriers.
